Frequently Asked Questions - Work in Progress!

Great question.  We're just a small local business, and things can change quickly.  So if we email you a date, we could have 2 more people who want the same flight time/date, who CALLED and schedule over your date.  And with emails, there is always a lag-time from reply to response.  I'm even reluctant about texting you a date, for the same reason.

And besides, we'd love to speak with you in person, so you get a feel for who we are.  More often than not, you'll be speaking directly to the pilot, Cliff Logan or his wife, Kim.

Our main flying season is from May thru Thanksgiving weekend.  It is ALL weather dependent.  Gentle breezes and no precipitation.  We can fly with some low visibility, but we do have minimum requirements to adhere to.

Our prices are in our Packages for prices.  Unfortunately, ☹ we did have to raise our Shared Flight prices only.

We are weekend warriors.  This is my side-business... 

We fly Sat. & Sun. @ Sunrise and/or Sunset.

The sooner you have a date in mind, the better to book it.  Sometimes, you can call for the upcoming weekend, but we are usually 2-3 weeks out; and it gets longer toward the end of the flying season.  Sometimes you may have to reschedule due to inclement weather.

SAFETY!!!  I'd rather cancel your flight 10 more times, than to injure you once!  The 2024 has not had many good weekends for flying, and it's frustrating for all of us.

Actual passenger statements: (and our response in my head at the time)

• "My kids are upset"...  we get it. Teach your children that Patients Is A Virtue. It's a valuable character trait.
• "Forecasts are not correct, they're estimates. Your weather criteria is flawed"...  maybe, but I'm alive to fly another day. I filed our flight plan with the FAA Flight Service (Aviation Weather). When did you want to schedule your next date?
• "The sky is clear.  And I called the airport and they said is was clear up to 60K feet. And it was to be my engagement flight"...  You got layman/passenger weather.  I filed our flight plan with the FAA Flight Service (Aviation Weather).  Did your call happen to mention the WINDSHEER (35 mph at 1100 ft.)???  Oh, and by the way, Congratulations on your engagement!  
• "I'm going to call around and schedule with another balloon company."...  NO DEPOSIT was taken by us.  You are free to go else where.  Most balloon pilots operate under the same safety parameters as we do. Sorry to see you go. ☹ Hope you have a beautiful flight!  No, really!!

We are standing in very close quarters.  The basket is 4ft. x 6ft., and even smaller footprint inside the basket.  People like to move around; and your toes are NO match to their sneakers.

Also, we sometimes land in high grassy areas, muddy/swampy areas.  And sometimes open-fields which may contain Cow Patties!!!  Very slippery when wet.  

Just don't say, We didn't warn you!!! LOL
